From autumn 2026 Croatia introduces free-flow toll system
New regulation: abolition of cash payments as a legal change
Cash payments will be abolished
With the new law, cash payments at toll stations will be completely abolished. Tolls can only be paid electronically.
Uniform electronic system for the whole of Croatia
The new system combines several payment options: credit card, app, partner locations, or toll box. Anyone who cannot provide a valid electronic ticket must expect fines – even in cases of unintentional non-payment.
