Once installed, the toll is recorded automatically. Less stop-and-go at toll stations also means less fuel consumption and fewer emissions. This is not only easy on the nerves, but also on the environment.

In addition to paying tolls, a ‘Large Toll Box’ from maut1.de for motorhomes is far more versatile:

• Car parks: Many car parks now have automatic recognition of ‘Large Toll Boxes’. The parking time is then paid for in a similar way to the toll via the subsequent invoice.

• Ferries: You can also use ferries on the roads of Messina.

• Italy: Lanes marked with a yellow ‘T’ or the ‘Europazeichen’ can be used with a ‘Large Toll Box’. Longer waiting times are to be expected on combined lanes (e.g. cash payment sign and yellow ‘T’).

• France: All lanes marked with a large ‘T’ can be used with the ‘Large Toll Box’.

• Spain: To reduce waiting times, Telepass users should use the lanes labelled ‘Telepeaje’, ‘VIA-T’ or with a ‘T’ to pay tolls in Spain.

• Portugal: At toll stations in many places in Portugal, it is only possible to drive through with a ‘Large Toll Box’. All lanes can then be used here.

• Austria: The general toll in Austria is automatically collected when you drive on the motorway. As there are no explicit toll stations here, you do not need to pay attention to anything else. In addition to the motorway toll, there are special toll routes in Austria. The Brenner toll is one of these routes. Here you should simply drive a little slower through the toll stations to make sure that signals are read.

Can I change my ‘Large Toll Box’ to another vehicle?

• With the ‘Large Toll Box’, it is not possible to change vehicles due to the individual personalisation of the Toll Box.

• With the ‘Large Toll Box’, however, it is possible to change vehicles.

Information about the contract

As the ‘Large Toll Box’ must be personalised to your vehicle, the right of withdrawal after ordering does not apply here.

You can use your ‘Large Toll Box’ for as short or as long as you like. If you no longer need the ‘Large Toll Box’, simply return it (with tracking) to the following address:

We only charge the fees incurred to date.

In Austria, the toll companies carry out random checks on the order data. Here, the details in the vehicle registration document are checked against the details on maut1.de and checked for consistency. In the event of such a check, you do not need to worry. After a check, you must send maut1.de a scan or photo of your vehicle registration document within 48 hours - the best way to do this is by e-mail.

In these cases, however, we will contact you immediately and point this out to you again. If we do not receive proof of the vehicle licence within the specified period, the ‘Large Toll Box’ may have to be blocked for a fee and additional fees may be charged by the toll operator.

If you keep the ‘Large Toll Box’ for longer than one year, the contract will be extended for a further year and the annual fee of €84.90 will be charged again. The annual fee covers the provision of the Toll Box, but not the individual toll charges.

The toll charges or other transit fees incurred when passing through the toll stations are separate costs and will be charged additionally. You do not have to do anything else. We will settle all toll charges incurred on your journey via your registered payment method.
